I began my working life in nursing, becoming a full-time counsellor in 1995 working with The Royal Collage of Nursing. I established my successful independent practice in 2002. I have experience in helping people adjust to change and loss, and in accompanying people on their personal and spiritual journeys.

People come to me through their Employee Assistance Programs at work, referred by their G.P, or via the internet. However, the majority of my work comes through personal recommendation, which I find particularly rewarding.

I am accredited and registered with The British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy and on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors  This assures you of a high standard of professional care.

Not all counsellors are accredited or professionally qualified. When searching for a counsellor BACP accreditation acts as a kitemark. BACP Accreditation is not a qualification in itself but an additional undertaking which takes some years to achieve and involves a substantial level of training and experience approved by BACP.

I also work regularly offering clinical supervision to nurses both individually and in group settings.

My qualifications include:

MSc in Psychological Counselling

Diploma in Psychological Counselling

Certificate In Solution Focussed Brief Counselling

Certificate in Stress Management

BA In Nursing

Certificate In Oncological (Cancer)

My clients have come for help with a wide variety of issues and concerns,
  these include:

anxiety
stress
bereavement
adjustment to change and loss
low self esteem
relationship issues
work-related issues
personal development
spirituality
sexuality.
